Description:
Weekly Emergency Supplemental Food

Each Wednesday* from 9:30 to 11:00 am the C.A.R.E. program is open for the residents of the Escalon Unified School District who need food and whose income meets Federal guidelines. A bag of food is provided free, one for each household. Currently we are providing for about 110-120 households a week. Senior Brown Bag

The Second Tuesday after the First Monday from 8:00 to 11:00 am seniors over 60 years of age can get a bag of food. The second disbursement is two weeks following. The cost is $12.00 yearly paid in November (pro-rated in following months). This was designed for people on a fixed income and has specific income requirements. As with all three food programs we do not arrange or administer any organized volunteer delivery program. Some people rely on friends to help deliver their food to them.

Those in need must provide the following to qualify:

1- Proof of current income: Bank Statements, a W2, Social Security Statement

2- I.D. for EACH MEMBER (medical card, birth certificate, drivers license, social security card, school I.D., or passport

3- Current proof of 95361 residency: utility bill or a current piece of mail with name and address What's Provided?

Food provisions change on a weekly basis dependent upon local donations.

The first Thursday of each and every month from 8 am to 10:30 am, our volunteers distribute food that is supplied by the Salvation Army commodities food program. This is held at our Community Sharing building at 579 Center St.

Emergency Food Assistance is available to San Joaquin County resident households two times per calendar month. The mission of the Emergency Food Bank is to build a stronger community by providing a safety net of healthy food, nutrition education, and hope to residents of San Joaquin County who find themselves in need. The Food Bank also provides food products to partner pantries throughout the County, numerous non-profit agencies, community based organizations, and to events related to healthy living and nutrition. The Food Bank also provides a service to grocery stores, food processors, farmers and reclamation distribution centers by taking excess or usable foods that would otherwise be thrown away. Additionally, the EFB serves as a job training site by providing a place for the community to learn basic job skills, including warehouse operations, truck operation, data entry, and clerical office skills. The Fiddletown Community Center is a nonprofit, all volunteer, community based organization serving residents of Fiddletown and the surrounding area.

Started over 60 years ago, this organization continues to be a vital part of local life providing an affordable event center, a free library and tutoring center, providing local gatherings at Halloween, Thanksgiving, and at other times of the year, and much more. All proceeds donated to the FCC help keep the doors open by paying for continued maintenance on the historic Hall, taxes, and fund events.

We do not accept photo copies of any of the required documents listed above.

MEAL SERVICE

The Modesto Gospel Mission serves 450 meals a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. We serve 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 2 dinners per day to the poor and homeless in the community. The food served by the Mission is donated by individuals and businesses in the area, and our service provides warm meals to individuals and families where the only meal they may be able to eat that day is from the Mission.

During Thanksgiving the Mission serves around 1,000 meals to the community, and at Christmas we serve close to 2,000 meals to men, women, and children during the holidays. Our meal service is a vital part of the Modesto Gospel Mission and could not be what it is today without the help and support of our sponsors and the Stanislaus community. Food Security

If you are a senior who is 60 and over and continue to isolate to avoid the Coronavirus OR have no ability to travel independently to purchase food and household items are eligible to receive this grocery delivery. You must reside in Turlock, Keyes or Denair to be eligible.

Primary program support comes from SCAN Healthcare, United Way of Stanislaus County and Legacy Health Endowment. This program is expected to continue as long as funding exists. FOOD BOX DAY

The Valley Christian Church Food Pantry was established in 2013 as an outreach ministry to those in need in our community of Tracy, CA. Valley is tax-exempt under 501(c)(3) and the Food Pantry is organized under that nonprofit status. We depend on donations from you and our church members. The bulk of our food comes from Second Harvest Food Bank where we purchase food at a significant savings. Recipients must have documents that show proof of residency in San Joaquin county to be eligible to receive food. In the last year the Pantry has provided groceries to over 4000 people.
